We're Hard Podcast Show

It can be tricky to understand erectile dysfunction, especially if it’s something that’s come about more recently or you’re experiencing a less effective intimacy experience with your partner. There are several risk factors those concerned about developing erectile dysfunction should be aware of.

Common Risk Factors for Erectile Dysfunction

Disease and Condition Risk Factors

Diseases and various risk factors are one of the most common reasons for erectile dysfunction. Some are around at birth, some develop, and others can appear suddenly.

Common disease and condition risk factors include the following:

  • Hypertension: Factors like inadequate blood flow and reduced hormone production in hypertension can lead to eventual dysfunction.
  • Psychological: Depression, anxiety, and more can create issues in this area.
  • Heart disease: Heart disease and issues with the arteries often appear in those who suffer from erectile dysfunction.
  • Diabetes: Diabetes can eventually lead to erectile dysfunction in many men.
  • Other concerns: Low testosterone, sleep apnea, kidney troubles, and more can cause erectile dysfunction.

Lifestyle Risk Factors

Several lifestyle factors also can lead to eventual erectile dysfunction. Most of these can come to a halt with enough effort.

Common lifestyle risk factors include the following:

  • Recreational drugs: The use of recreational drugs such as cocaine, alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, and more can cause trouble with erectile dysfunction.
  • Bike riding: Riding a bike can cause issues with the reproductive areas of the man. Reduce it as much as possible if there’s a struggle in this area.

Why is Erectile Dysfunction So Common?

Unfortunately, cases of erectile dysfunction are higher than ever. One of the core causes of this trouble in our society is that people are unhealthier than ever. There are higher levels of heart disease, high blood pressure, smoking, obesity, and more.

There are also higher levels of depression, anxiety, stress, trouble with relationships, and more. Erectile dysfunction is something more and more men will experience as time goes on.
