We're Hard Podcast Show

Sensitive skin is evident in many individuals, causing unfortunate reactions to the sun and various products. While it’s much trickier to care for sensitive skin, it’s worth it to ensure you’re comfortable and glowing. There are several available tips to help you care for your sensitive skin.

Why Care for Sensitive Skin?

Caring for sensitive skin is vital to prevent signs of aging, skin cancer, and the appearance of your skin. If you have sensitive skin, you will have a much lower tolerance for other products that other skin types have no issue in their routine.

The more effort you put into your skin, the better the natural barrier for your sensitive skin. Poorly cared for sensitive skin isn’t prepared to face the outside atmosphere.

Skincare Tips for Sensitive Skin

Avoid Highly-Scented Products

One of the best things you can do for your skin is to avoid highly-scented products. Sensitive skin tends to have poor reactions to aggressive scents, so aim for unscented lotions, cleansers, and creams.

While it might seem tempting to invest in some of the Christmas-scented lotions from your favorite body care store, it isn’t the right choice. Your skin will benefit greatly from unscented, plain products. Plus, they tend to be much more affordable.

Don’t Use Harsh Exfoliants

Although it can feel like harsh exfoliants are cleaning your skin, they’re roughing up and scraping off critical parts of your skin when you’re rubbing it on your face. Don’t use harsh exfoliants with beads and other items inside.

Instead, choose an unscented exfoliant made of gentle products and in the form of a simple gel. It will benefit your skin much more.

Remove Makeup Before Bed

Even if you’re exhausted, ensure you remove your makeup before bed. Sleeping with a layer of concealer on your face is terrible for your skin, so it’s worth the additional effort to remove it beforehand.

Wear Sunscreen

Finally, ensure there’s a layer of sunscreen on your face before setting foot outside. SPF will defend sensitive skin from the sun and its harmful UV rays.
