From movies to songs, it seems like every form of entertainment talks about meeting ‘the one,’ the love of your life. However, that process is easier said than done. While it might not look like the movies, there are a few things you can look for if you’re trying to see if your partner is ‘the one.’
Indications You’ve Met ‘The One’
1. You Just Know Them
With some people, it feels like you know them. You might not have been together for long, but it feels like you’ve spent a past life together as partners. You understand each other more than anyone else and feel comfortable with them.
2. You Love Being With Each Other
Another green light is that you love spending time with each other. It doesn’t matter what mood you’re in or whether you’re having a good or bad day – you want to spend time with that person. It’s always a good indication that you’re with a person you’ll love for the long run if you can’t wait to be with them any time of the day.
3. Fights Are Healthy
Even if you’re with your dream person, fights are an inevitable part of being in a relationship. However, if you’re with the right individual, your fights will be healthy and drive your relationship forward rather than pulling you apart. You listen to each other, understand your disagreement styles, and both desire to grow together.
4. Physical and Emotional Closeness
Everyone tends to think of physical closeness when finding ‘the one,’ but that’s not the only piece. Ideally, you will know you’ve found ‘the one’ if you have a closeness that’s intimate in a physical and emotional sense. You can be vulnerable with each other on every level.
5. Life Is Easy With Them
Finally, you know you’ve found ‘the one’ if life is easy with them. That doesn’t mean you won’t have arguments or that every moment will be perfect, but it means these moments will be far easier with them, and you can navigate the ups and downs of life.
