We're Hard Podcast Show

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is closely tied to the health of your body. As such, it disproportionately affects those who have unhealthy diets and don’t exercise. But before you grab your running shoes to try and solve your ED on your own, take a minute to discover some of the exact exercises that can help you get your mojo back.

Curious about the role exercise plays in ED? Read on to learn about specific exercises you should use to help overcome your ED.

Kegels

Many men think that kegels are only exercises for women, but this is far from the truth. Kegels are any sort of pelvic floor exercise, and men, especially those with ED, need them too.

The easiest kegels for men can be done while sitting in a chair. Ensure your feet are flat on the floor the same distance apart as your hips. Then, contract your pelvic floor area as if you are pushing up. This is a kegel.

Cardio Exercises

Cardio has been shown to be very effective in curing ED. Start by walking for 30 minutes a day, five days a week. As you get more comfortable, consider swapping your walking for cycling, swimming, or rowing.

Try to stick to exercises that are low-pressure on your joints. As you get more fit, you can start jogging or running as well. Just ensure you have good shoes to keep the pressure off your knees.

Pilates

Pilates is a group of exercises that focus on muscle strength, and it can work wonders for someone with ED. Consider signing up for a local class or an at-home video subscription so you can try different types of pilates. Generally, exercises that focus on the lower half of the body are best for men with ED.

All in all, no matter what exercise you try, you should hopefully see some improvement within a few weeks. If you have any questions or aren’t getting better, seek out your doctor who can provide further guidance for managing your ED.
