Running has both physical and mental health benefits. It strengthens your cardiovascular muscles and function and it also helps in clearing your mind of stress. Other than that, there are countless things that are gained when you run. And for you to improve your running routine, here are five tips to improve your jog:
- Wear the best running shoes
Purchase a little bit of over-the-budget running shoes. Not only will it last longer but it will also extend the miles of your previous run. It is said that to acquire something that will be used constantly, one might as well purchase something pricey and of good quality and a well-known brand. One of the most essential parts of your run is your shoes so go ahead and buy the footgear that will help you improve those miles.
- Count minutes instead of miles
Take notes of the duration of your run, not the distance. Counting miles instead of minutes is one of the biggest mistakes rookies make.
- Relax
Stay relaxed when you’re running and loosen your body such as your shoulders and jaw. Don’t tighten the grip of your hands and shake it out together with your arms from time to time to keep it relaxed.
- Quick runs are still helpful
If you think that breaking your 30-minute to an hour run is not beneficial, think again. We all have our day-to-day routine such as our job and personal lives and sometimes making time for your run is hard. But if you have a spare 15 minutes on your hands it is okay to run for that short period of time. It is better than not running at all.
- Try running at noon
Running at noon is somehow beneficial because it gives you the chance to avoid having a big meal.
